Darn FedEx!

We were all set to go. The perfect plan was in place, which should have been the first red flag. Turns out our hitch that was to arrive early this morning had arrived early in Atlanta and not Jackson. So we got to stay here another day. I was not a happy camper, but as it turns out it ended up being (according to Kylie) the BEST day of her life!

We went to the Tennessee Safari Park, which is a drive through park, old school style - let's not confuse this with Fossil Rim. It was more like your neighbor has lots of exotics and you can go drive around and feed them. Not exactly a zoological dream come true but for entertainment value and some up close animal experiences you couldn't beat it. The animals looked like they were treated well and the feed that they were given looked healthy and nutritious.

Fortunately we were forewarned that they would make a mess of your car if you fed them. The nice man at the entry suggested the kids get in the bed of the truck and to feed them from there if we were concerned about it. I figured I ought to join them to take pictures and make sure they weren't pecked by the ostriches. We still have feed all over the back of the truck from a very aggressive eater (ostrich) and a huge camel that seemed like he was going to clean it all up. Mind you we are in our spanking new 1 day old truck! The highlight was the enormous giraffe that appeared out of nowhere as soon as the kids bought carrots for him.

We ended the day with sushi and cupcakes. If we are stuck here tomorrow night we are going back for more sushi - different restaurant than the first night for sushi, same bakery for cupcakes. We are becoming regulars!
