Kylie Day 12

Mesa Verde

We got up at the same time as yesterday and got in the truck. We were heading to Mesa Verde. Mesa Verde was a thriving village of indians for about one hundred years. Then the indians migrated down to the south western part of the United States. It took us an hour to get to the park and another hour to get through the park to the cliff palace. The cliff palace is the biggest cliff dwelling in north America. With one hundred fifty rooms the village had an estimated population of about one hundred people. It was so cool! When we got home we had sushi. I had a california roll. It was just ok.

Kylie Day 11

Zip Lines! Zip Lines! Zip Lines!

This morning we got up and left at eight thirty sharp. We drove to a small train station that is in between Silverton and Durango. We got on the same train that we got on two days ago and rode forty five minutes to a small valley that people can only access by a helicopter or by train. In that valley there were lots of zip lines that went from tree to tree. After we got our harnesses on we started the course of zip lines. We went from tree to tree until lunch. When it was lunch time we went to a platform and all had small gourmet lunch. It was delicious! When lunch was over we got to go on another zip line course that went over the river. At the end of the day we got to go on the longest zip line. It was one thousand, four hundred feet long! I had so much fun!

A School Day

Yesterday we got up and did schoolwork. We had sandwiches for lunch. I finished My schoolwork around four. I had a water gun fight with Izzy and my dad until it was time to go to dinner. We went to a sushi-steak place for dinner. I was tired of steak, so I asked my dad to pick out a sushi roll that I would like. Of course I did not like it. For dessert we went to a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. My dad and I got ten of our favorites (Rocky Mountain Mints). They were mouth watering.

Train Ride

Yesterday morning we went into town to the Narrow Gauge Train Station. We didn't have time to ride to Silverton (the town where the train takes you) and back, so a bus drove us to Silverton. It took one hour. When we got there we had lunch with Izzy's family. After that we walked around town until it was time to board the train. The train pulled into the center of town. Inside it looked like an old train (which it was). The train ride was three and a half hours and was really fun. I sat with Izzy's family most of the time. The train went through a canyon and stayed right next to a river. When we got home we had dinner, then we went over to Izzy's RV to play Apples to Apples. We stayed up late and had lots of fun!

Back To Schoolwork

We woke up in the RV. Yesterday Mom and dad came home. We also got to pick up the dogs from the dog kennel. They were so happy to see us. Mom let us have thirty minutes to play (with my new helicopter) before schoolwork. I did schoolwork all morning until eleven forty five am. Then mom let me have some recess. I made a base with Legos for my helicopter. Dad made us sandwiches for lunch. I finally finished my schoolwork around three and got to play some more. For dinner we all went out to a paella restaurant. It was good!

Friends

This morning we got up late and packed up the RV. We got on the road around ten am. It took four more hours (including lunch) to get to Durango. When we arrived at Durango we met up with some of our friends that we met at the Sand Dunes. It was Izzy's family. We met and played outside of our RV (our RV has a huge green grassy yard). After our families had dinner (pizza) we all played volleyball. We all went crazy (including the parents) and had lots of fun. We also met two other boys and played with them too. Today was fun.

Kylie Day 6

Bandelier

Twenty minutes after I got up this morning we got in the car and drove to Bandelier. When we got there we had to hike fifteen minutes to get to the cave-houses that were carved into the side of a mountain. During the hike we got to see an old village made out of rocks and mud. Around fourteen hundred A.D. indians inhabited Bandelier. People think they left Bandelier because the game left the area so there was nothing to hunt for. When we arrived at the cave houses we found that we were allowed to climb ladders and check out some of the caves. They were really cool! For dinner we went to a steak house.

Kylie Day 5

Santa Fe Square

We got up and walked to the Santa Fe square for breakfast. The square is really close to our house. We decided to eat at a creperie. I had a banana crepe, Kylie had a raspberry crepe, and Chelsea got a strawberry crepe. After breakfast we went to check on the RV to make sure everything was in order. For lunch we went to the Roof Top Pizzeria. When we finished we walked around town looking at stores. We also hired a bicycle-cab to take us to a playground. We had fun!

Kylie Day 4

Hot Cave

This morning Chelsea made us crescent rolls for breakfast. After we finished our breakfast Chelsea took us to the Spence Hot Springs. We got lost twice, and got there an hour late. We had to walk a twenty minute hike (half of it was up hill) to get the the hot springs. It was all worth it though. When we got in the springs we had it all to our selves. There were two pools an upper pool and a lower pool. The upper pool had a small cave that was like a spa. IT WAS AMAZING!!! It was really humid and the water was warmer than the outside pools. Most of the time we were there we played legos in the cave. We had dinner on the way home and went out for ice cream. Today was fun.

Adobe House

This morning we got up and had breakfast. Around ten thirty dad and mom left on dad's business trip.  Chelsea helped us gather up our things and we took Noah and Mousse to Pet Suites (the local dog kennel).  When we arrived at our rental house we unpacked and played for a while.  The house had an upstairs and a downstairs.  After we unpacked we went to the store to get some food for the next couple of days.  While we were there I found the toy I have been looking for (a helicopter with wheels that can also drive).  I got it.  When we got back Chelsea made us steak for dinner.  It was really good!

Three Month Starter

Yesterday morning we left home around ten am. This trip Mousse and Noah were coming with us. Mom drove her car with Mousse and Kylie, while dad and I drove the truck with Noah. We drove six hours to Amarillo. Dad, Kylie, and I went to the famous "Big Texan Steak House" for dinner. While we were there we got to see two people try to take on the steak challenge. It's basically where someone has to eat a seventy-two ounce steak (and sides) in a hour or less. If they don't eat everything on their plate they have to pay seventy five dollars. Both the people who tried that night failed.
This morning we got on the road around nine thirty am. and arrived at Santa Fe at two thirty pm. At four pm. We went to the airport to pick up Chelsea (my dad's office assistant, and friend). My mom and dad have to leave for one of dad's business trips. Chelsea is going to take care of Kylie and me while my parents are gone. After we picked her up we all went to dinner at my mom and dad's second favorite sushi place. They had a blast.
