Yesterday we drove all the way from Graymouth to Marlborough Sound. We packed our bags in a water taxi and it took us to the house that we rented. The house has four rooms and it is up on a hill. At the bottom of the hill there is a dock with two kayaks and a small rowboat. The next day we did schoolwork until two. Then dad, Kylie, and I took the row boat and a kayak and went fishing. I tried for a long time without success. Dad also tried for a while without success. We only got lots of bites. Kylie stayed on the shore while we were fishing. She found some really neat shells! We also dug for a type of shell fish called a cockle. Mom and dad had them for dinner in their soup.
Hey, Hammock Boy! Life is Good! Marlborough Sound must have been great fun! Look forward to hearing about what you'll be doing in Nelson. Love, Grandma M
