Biltmore, behind the scenes

This morning we woke up and had breakfast. I did not have to do any schoolwork. At ten we went to The Biltmore again. This time we were going on the Butler's Tour. When we got there we signed in and got our passes. We got to see lots of the other rooms that were closed off to other people. Some of them were the basement and china dish room. Mom adored the china dish room. When the tour was over we had lunch in the stables (the stables that is now a restaurant).

After lunch we went on a carriage ride into the woods of the estate. We saw five deer and a huge tom turkey (who showed its feathers off and gobbled at us). The two horses who pulled the carriage were Belgium Draft horses. They were huge!

When we came home we had dinner and made a fire.
