An Old Friend

Three days ago we left Sue and Derrick's farm and went south to Rotorua.  We were staying on the same exact farm that we stayed at last year.  A boy my age (Jacque) lives there.  The first day we were there we only did schoolwork then stayed home.  Yesterday we did schoolwork, and mom went on a hike in a redwood forest.  Dad, Kylie, and I all went to a trout farm, which was closed.  Last night we made a campfire with Jacque's family and had dinner with them.  While the parents were talking Jacque, Kylie and I went on a walk around their farm.  On the last part of our walk we had to go through a cow paddock with eight curious calves.  While we were walking through, I dared Jacque to run to the other gate.  He did and I ran after him.  Kylie was right behind me, and all of the cows were right behind her running to!  Kylie freaked out and ran faster than both of us.  She was hilarious!  Today we are moving on to Lake Taupo.

  1. Sounds like there will be a track star in the family (hopefully she'll be able to run like that even if not chased by calves)! Good that you were able to return to both farmstays and connect with the families that you met before. Congratulations to Tim on his big "catch"! Love to all from Boulder
