Star Wars Exhibit

Today I did scholwork until lunch, then dad, Kylie and I all went to a museum.  The museum had just opened a Star Wars exhibit.  They were borrowing all of the suits and models from Gorge Lucas' private collection.  I got to see all of the models that they used in the Star Wars movies.  Did you know Yoda was a puppet and not a midget in a costume?!  I had lots of fun and learned a lot more about Star Wars!  When we finished looking at the exhibit we got to see an IMax movie about Monarch butterflies.  It was very interesting!  Tomorrow we are going to Santa Barbara.

The Aquarium

Today we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  When we got there it was otter feeding time.  We got to see otters munching on tastey sea urchins.  They dive under the water, grab their food, then swim back up and lay on their backs in the water while they eat.  When the feeding was over we went to the Ocean exibit.  There were sharks, dolphine fish, tuna, and even sardines!  Today they were feeding the sardines.  The school they were in was fourteen thousand strong.  They came swimming from the bottom of the tank to the top to where the food pellets were being thrown in.  While they were feeding several of them got seperated from the school and were picked off by the bigger fish.  Fun Fact:  The aquarium used to be a sardine canning company.  When the feeding was over we went through the rest of the aquarium.  I got to touch a flounder and a manta ray.  After the aquarium we went to a Creperie for a snack. I got a banana crepe.  It was delicious!

Put San Francisco On On Our "Not So Great Place" List.

     I got up and did a math test.  Then, around nine thirty we drove an hour to San Francisco.  When we got there we parked our car and went to a childrens museum.  We brought legos with us because we were going to make a stop motion video there, but when we got to the entrance of the museum a sign said it was closed.  After that we went to the Fisherman's Warf to look around and have lunch.  We went to a fancy sushi place but the food was only ok.  Then we went to an old arcade game museum.  We had lots of fun there.  It was about time to go home, so we decided to head back.  As soon as we got on the road again, we found the street jamed with cars because of a public transportation strike.  We moved three miles in 1 hour and 20 minutes and it took 2 1/2 hours to get home.   By the time we got back to the RV it was five thirty!  Mom and dad weren't very happy with San Francisco.

Napa

Yesterday we arrived at Napa around four pm.  At dinner time we went to a nice busy place, and my parents immediately started by ordering a wine parring.  Dinner was superb there.  This morning I only had to do my math.  When I finished, dad, Kylie, and I all went to Train Town in Sonoma.  It was basically a place where you ride a miniature train to a petting zoo and then ride the train back.  I thought it was a little cheesy, but Kylie liked it.  For dinner we went to another nice restaurant.  I read my book the whole time while Kylie played her ipad and tried to annoy me.  I had an amazing steak and an even better banana foster for dessert!
